Meet Adriana

Have you met Adriana? I'd be surprised if you haven't. She laughs with her whole heart, makes friends while standing in line and never goes ANYWHERE without knowing at least three people! Adriana has been an excellent presence in my life for as long as I can remember.

You all know I grew up in Houston but I was gone for a long time. A few years ago, Adri invited me to a Rockets game. I had about 20 minutes to find my Rockets Jersey and as I squeezed into Olajuwon's #34 Jersey, I sent a quick thank you up to my Dad for buying it just a little bigger than needed all those years ago. I will never forget Adri's face when I took off my jacket at the Toyota center. She stifled a giggle as she asked me if it had been 10 years since my last Rockets game, it had been. Ya'll, she didn't even skip a beat. We laughed as we reminisced about Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady, and Steve Francis. My kind heart-ed friend isn't just knowledgeable on all things sports, the girl knows her music too.

Adri and I were sipping mimosa's on a patio one afternoon and she suggested we visit our friend who was living in the Netherlands. Adri has a way of making things happen and one month later we were taking an underwater train from Paris to a Drake concert in Amsterdam! We had talked a Paris postal shop into providing us with markers, tape and paper and we spent our train ride creating a sign to smuggle into the show with us. "HTOWN GIRLS" and "281 to MY CITY". I've never had an artist stop a show and I'm not kidding ... Drake stopped the show to talk about how special it was to have fans from Houston visit him all the way in Amsterdam. I. Was. Stunned. What a special memory to share with a great friend.

Adriana is one of a kind and I'm so happy we found our way into each others lives. If you are fortunate enough to meet her, your life will never be the same. Say "Hi" for me, she will be glad you did!
